Our garage is located at the lower floor of our headquarters, and lies on a 300 sqm area. Here Galiffa Kart’s technical staff works to set-up and test engines and chassis used by kart lovers and professionals in all kinds of competitions. Our garage is divided in four main zones.

Engine testing and assembling area

In this area different zones are dedicated to different kinds of engines: KZ, KF, ICA. Every zone has its specific equipment. Moreover, the crankcase of a TM K9 is ready for gearbox testing or running in. This system simulates gearbox operating conditions: it’s powered by an electric engine and braked by a hydraulic pump.

Chassis assembling area

A large area is dedicated to chassis. The assembling flat workbench is equipped with laser beams and surface gauges for accurate evaluations of the chassis geometry.

Area for engine testing and mechanical measurements

This area is equipped with a combined bench: one part is inertial (dynamic), built by Degli Esposti Engineering, and the other is braked, by Borghi and Saveri. The two components can be used separately or together, and are driven by the Testline software. A durometer and a roughness meters, to evaluate accurately the quality of our materials and workings. An apposite test-crankcase is also used to rapidly measure the distribution of a set-up engine: a cylinder is assembled to check the phase duration before and after our workings.

Mechanical workings area

Two lathes and two Sunnen lapping machines are the main equipment of this area, where there is also a reliable press for assembling shafts, which has its own equipment for verifying the perfect alignment of parts.
